Help with Homework Stress--For Parents

Great parent education class to help families cope with homework stress!

Late afternoon and early evening hours are often stressful. Despite our best intentions when the time comes to crack open the books and get started on homework, the frustration level starts to mount for everyone - kids & parents. Misplaced assignments, forgotten worksheets, test stress are part of daily life - a life that is already busy with work, sports and hobbies.

These experiences are common in many homes with school age children. Pacifica School Volunteers is offering a free workshop to help parents explore resources and strategies that can make a positive difference in our children's school success (and hopefully ease that homework stress!). Dr. Gardiner, school psychologist and Ms. Nelles, resource teacher, will discuss K - 8th grade child development, academic expectations at each level and parent roles and supports for different age groups.

A representative from the Pacifica Library will also be on hand to introduce parents to the wonderful online resources available through the library. Did you know that live tutoring help is available for free every day through the library website?  This is just one of the many programs available to help ease the homework stress.

Mark your calendars now for Tuesday, April 3rd at 7pm (in the library at ). Space is limited so be sure to call Pacifica School Volunteers (650-355-9432) or email, psv@pacificasd.org to reserve your spot.

There are many things we can do to support our kids' success in school. Join PSV and learn some strategies to make a positive difference.
