San Mateo Resident Appointed New Harbor Commissioner

Will Holsinger fills vacancy left by Sally Campbell.

 

San Mateo resident Will Holsinger was selected today by commissioners to fill the vacancy left after the of longtime commissioner Sally Campbell, the district reported today.

Holsinger was selected and sworn into public office following a question and answer period between the commissioners and seven other candidates at today's special meeting.  Candidates for the position included , Greg Cochran, Alex Kent, Linda Koelling, Neil Merrilees, John Penna, and Jay Veach.

Holsinger will serve on the Harbor District commission for the balance of Campbell's term, which concludes on December 31, 2012.

A lawyer who is active in community affairs, Holsinger obtained his education from U. C. Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco in 1978.  Prior to becoming a lawyer, he worked as a Staff Assistant to Congressman Leo J. Ryan (Dem. 11th Dist.).

Holsinger is currently on the boards of directors of the Burlingame Rotary Club and Project Ninety, Inc., a drug and alcohol treatment program serving San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties.
