Warm Temps in Pacifica - It was Fun While it Lasted

It was a rare day off, when we had nothing else to do, and the weather was sunny & warm. Mike lamented that he hadn't been to the beach in years, just to relax lie around in the sun, and catch some vitamin D. Then he added: "But the yard needs weeding..." Me:  "To heck with the yard! Let's go to the beach!"

He didn't need for me to twist his arm. He was back in a flash with our fold-up chairs, portable cabana, and a day-pack filled with essentials - sunscreen, water, apple slices, reading matter. Oh yeah - and camera.

For awhile, it was just us and the beach, for the most part.  Mike & I noticed that this beach, which used to be so smooth with sand, was now populated by rocks, some of them larger than Rocky Balboa's fist.  Rocky?  Watch your step!  Then Mike talked about when he was growing up in Linda Mar, and he and his friend Gary would go rock climbing, when others were surfing.  They'd bring rock-climbing gear, and practice scaling those large rock formations just off the hillside that the waves pour over.

After 2 hours, Linda Mar Beach had filled up with beach-goers, and possibly hooky-players (being a Monday & all)...but just possibly.  Ocean Shore Elementary School had their annual field trip to the beach - the students wore bright orange vests, their teachers & parents ever-vigilant & watchful, while speaking of life in the ocean, tides, etc.  There were also many surfers and dogs, of course.  Not sure the weather matters much to the "regulars".  But  for many of us, when the sun shines in Pacifica, you don't waste time. You get out & enjoy it while it lasts!
