Karaoke Night Makes a Comeback at Surf Spot

Grab the microphone and sing your heart out. Karaoke Wednesdays returns to Surf Spot in Pacifica.

After a brief hiatus to iron out some kinks, Karaoke Wednesdays returns to Surf Spot.

Amanda will take over the helm one week from today on Wednesday, Aug. 21, with all new equipment and hundreds of thousands of songs, said Surf Spot owner Derek Burns.

"Matt used to do the karaoke, but we wanted to work out some things with our program," said Burns. "He still works with us but opted not to do karaoke anymore due to our noise constraints."

He also had a limited song library, explains Burns, so it was hard for the kids to pick songs that were current.

"That will all change now with the new program. This is just one slice of our year-round music program," said Burns, "as we always intended to bring karaoke back once we worked out an ongoing program."

Amanda will provide family friendly karaoke from 6 to 10 p.m. every Wednesday at Surf Spot until the weather gets cold and then it will shift to a later time and move inside for the rainy season.

Serious singers and casual kids are all welcome. Open Mic performances welcome as well.

Surf Spot is located at 4627 Coast Hwy. in Pacifica.
