New Freedoms Youth and Families Forum

The Center for Independence of Individuals with Disabilities (CID) is hosting the New Freedoms Forum for Youth and Families for youth ages 14-25 and family members. 

Join us for:

  • Assistive Technology demonstrations from the CID
  • Learn about the iPad and iPod Loan Program and other services provided by the Center for Accessible Technology 
  • Check out demonstrations of the RotoChair and the RotoTrike- a new kind of manual chair!
  • Presentations from organizations that provide services such as such as travel training, recreation and service or support dogs
  • The first 50 young people to attend will receive free money management software courtesy of Wells Fargo
  • Opportunities to talk with service providers, employment center representatives and government agencies
  • Express your pride in yourself and community! Participate in the Community Pride Quilt Project.  Approximately 100 people with disabilities and allies from the Bay Area have contributed to the making of this quilt.

ASL interpreters will be provided.  Other accommodations can be provided if requested by July 11, 2011.  All CID events are accessible for people with disabilities.  ASL interpreters will be available at our ADA accessible location.  Help us make our event welcoming to all by not wearing scented products.
