Who Is the Pacifica Person of the Year?

TIME magazine named President Barack Obama their person of the year. Tell us who you think should win from our town!

On Dec. 19, Time magazine named President Barack Obama as their Person of the Year.

“For finding and forging a new majority, for turning weakness into opportunity and for seeking, amid great adversity, to create a more perfect union, Barack Obama is TIME's 2012 Person of the Year,” Time managing editor Richard Stengel explained in his note to readers.

The magazine invited votes on 40 candidates, including Obama, Gabby Douglas and Kim Jong Un. Other options included The Mars Rover and the Higgs Boson Particle.

But who cares about the same-old, same-old? Who is Pacifica’s Person of the Year—the man or woman who, in Timespeak, “most influenced the news this year for better or worse?”

Tell us your pick in the comment section below!

Lynn Adams with Pacifica Beach Coalition. She does SO MUCH for our town, raising awareness about our environment and trying to reach young people as well via Earth Day.
Adrian Smith December 28, 2012 at 03:49 pm
I too suggest Lynn Adams.
Jo Tog December 28, 2012 at 04:15 pm
I suggest all of the people who fought hard and died defending our freedoms. Starting with the Border Control Officer who was killed with weapons obama sold to the drug cartels. And then we have the Navy Seals, Marines who held off Al Qaeda terrorists while waiting for help that was never coming because Obama refused to send help. Then we should add all of America's business's that were terrorized by the EPA Director , who just resigned due to illegal emails and many alias names she used to hide her dirty work. Yes. Lynn Adam picks up garbage, big deal.

Bren, No need to vent your pent up anger at white people. Your statement is a perfect example ofRead More reverse racism. We live in an country where there are different races and different languages but the native language is English and to omit that language from any sign that was paid for by tax payers is a slap in the face. This has nothing to do with demographics or race wars. Take a step back, breath, and stop spreading your hate rhetoric.
