PHOTO: Seagull Enjoys Lunch on the Pier
This California Gull was caught on camera swallowing down an entire starfish.
Pacifica photographer Edward Sawacki caught this seagull gulping down a starfish recently at Sharp Park Beach near the Pacifica Pier.
"Seagulls are the garbage men of our coast and can be found also scavenging dead animals and organic litter that could pose a health hazard to humans," said Sawacki. "This seagull pictured here is better known as 'The California Gull' and can be found on the Pacific coastline from northern Mexico to British Columbia."
