Name That Fog Contest: What Would You Call Pacifica's Famous Fog?
See the list of entries here from the Pacifica Rotary Club's contest, and pick what you think is the best name for Pacifica's fog.
Fogzilla, Angel's Breath, Mistifica. If you could give Pacifica's fog a name, what would it be?
As part of a fundraising effort to buy dictionaries for every third-grader in Pacifica, the Pacifica Rotary Club is having a Name That Fog contest.
Thirty entries have already come in and now five celebrity judges, selected by the Rotary Club, are to score this week each entry on a scale from 0 to 5, with 5 being the best. Those judges are Bill Lacy from QFM 89.3 FM Radio Station, Pacifica Tribune publisher Elaine Larsen, Pacifica mayor Len Stone, Pacifica Patch editor Christa Bigue, and Chamber of Commerce CEO Courtney Conlon.
The winner will be named this Sunday at the club's Bowlathon at Sea Bowl in Pacifica.
This is the first time the Rotary Club has done this and so far has raised $350 to go toward buying approximately 450 dictionaries, said Rotary Club president Steve Wright, which will be delivered to the third graders some time in January.
So if you were selected to judge this contest, what would you pick as the best name for Pacifica's fog from the list of entries below? Leave your pick in the comments section.
