Have You Seen This Woman and Her Dog Ride Through Pacifica Yet?

Jasmine Reese and her dog Fiji are expected to cycle through Pacifica on Thursday and stay the night while on a cross country journey promoting healthy living.

If you see Jasmine Reese and her dog Fiji in Pacifica the next couple of days, wave hello.

They're passing through on their cross country cycling tour from New York to San Diego to promote healthy living.

According to an article in Pet Project Magazine about the duo, Reese is a student at University of Missouri, taking some time to fulfill her dream of cycling across the U.S., hitting the road in May and planning to travel more than 4,000 miles together along the East Coast Greenway and Trans-America Trail to their final destination of San Diego.

She's traveling on a Kona Sutra 2013 bicycle with Fiji either running alongside her with a bike attachment or riding in a trailer equipped with cooling and foam mats.

The purpose of their journey is three-fold: to raise awareness for the Missouri Lions Eye Research Foundation, which helped Reese; to encourage others to make healthy lifestyle choices; and to inspire others to do fun things with their pets and be responsible pet owners.

With no plans for where to spend the night in Pacifica, the Pacifica Chamber of Commerce put Reese in touch with the president of the Pacifica Lions Club, Shirlee Gibbs, who has agreed to put her up for the night before she continues heading south, stopping in Half Moon Bay for the weekend.
