Getting Your Green On With Celtic Rock, Scottish Fiddlers, Folk and a Giants Black Beard: St. Patrick's Day Celebrations

Where to celebrate in Pacifica and Half Moon Bay.

There's plenty of places to go out and get your green on for St. Patrick's Day in Pacifica and Half Moon Bay.

Locals have concocted celebrations they've stamped with their own unique styles -- take a look at Nick's Giants-themed celebration, Winters Tavern's corned beef and cabbage and green beer and the night the Old Princeton Landing has planned for you, for example.

  • Nick's Restaurant is celebrating the today and St. Patrick's Day at the same time with drink specials, garlic fries, baby back ribs and corned beef and cabbage. Also, wearing a "Giants Black Beard" will get you a free drink. 
  • will have corned beef and cabbage starting at 4:30pm plus green beer. Tonight, the cover band SF Undercover will be performing. 
  • will have un-green $1 Bud, Bud Light and PBR.
  • will have drink specials all night and a live performance by the Murphy Girls from 7pm to 9pm: "These ladies play music rooted in the Celtic, American, and British folk traditions. Their repertoire features beautiful melodies, ear-catching arrangements, and three-part vocal harmonies. All three members of the band live in Pacifica, and perform at local venues, as well as at fundraising events and private parties."
  • The Longboard Margarita Bar will have $5 Car Bombs, Green House Margaritas, $4 Aluminum Bud Light Bottles and $3 (while supplies last) homemade Shepherd Pie. The Cosmo Alley Cats will be performing. 
  • Pool is free tonight at . 
  •  The American Legion Coastside Post 474 at 470 Capistrano Rd. in Princeton is serving corned beef, cabbage, red potatoes, and carrots at 12 noon and 4:00 pm. Cost: $10.00. Insider tip: They always sell out, so come early if you want to eat here.
  •  will celebrate to the music of Diane Burns, Mo Robinson and Peter Bland, who will play Irish folk music from 7 pm - 10 pm. 
  • Want to spend your day helping out a good cause? From 6 pm - 9 pm, is having a traditional Irish dinner along with a silent auction benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of the Coastside. The Peninsula Scottish Fiddlers will also play throughout the evening. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the  or the Boys and Girls Club, located on the campus of .
  • : The headliner is Celtic-based band Claddagh featuring Shana Morrison, the daughter of Van Morrison, along with Kevin Brennan and Grant Walters. The Brewing Company will serve corned beef and cabbage with boiled potatoes, Stout Beef Stew (herbs, spices, vegetables and the Brewing Company's Imperial Stout), along with a side of Colcannon featuring kale, mashed Peruvian and Yukon Gold potatoes with herbs. Food served all day, with the evening celebration lasting from 7 pm - 10 pm. 
  • In honor of the holiday,  will be serving their  today, tomorrow, and on St. Patrick's Day.
  • From 5 pm - 9 pm, the Miramar Beach Restaurant is serving a 3-course meal for $19.95 including Roast Lamb Loin, Caesar Salad, and apple pie a la mode. Bottle wines are 25% off.
  • The Moss Beach Distillery has an Irish-themed 3-course prix fixe menu it will be serving on Thursday and Friday for $18.95 per person: Bacon and baked potato soup, a main course of corned beef brisket and cabbage with Irish dumplings, and a dessert of key lime pie.
  • More Irish music at the Old Princeton Landing, but with their trademark twist: Celtic rock groupO'Craven will perform at 8 pm. There will be green beer, but also Irish coffee, green shots, Snake Bites, Irish martinis, Nutty Irishmans, and Irish Trash Cans (yes, they are all drinks).   
  • The Lighthouse String Band will play Irish folk music at The Wine Bar from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm.
