Blues, Beer and Tug of War: Pacifica Does the Fourth

Even the sun made it out for the Parks, Beaches and Recreation Department's 37th annual Fourth of July Celebration.

Pacificans young and old came to yesterday afternoon to celebrate their independence.

Local nonprofits such as the band boosters and Pacifica Sea Lions cooked up burgers for sale and the Rotary Club of Pacifica served up ice cold beer and soda.

People were welcome to bring and barbecue their own meal on the park's grills, too.

Live acts such as Juke Joint Jonny feat. Mark "The Harp" Blea (featured in the video) and Ian Butler and the Humpbacks kept music in the air.

Dogs were welcome at the event, and POOCH (Pacifica Organization of Canine Helpers) was there to spread the word about a  in which it has entered Pacifica whereby the city could win $100,000 for a new dog park.
