Community Corner
Culture? Travel? Education?
At Coastside Farmers' Market in Pacifica July 9th, 10th, and 11th, Mona Urbina, Emma Merritt-Cuneo, and Isabel Griffiths, will be working to promote international cultural exchanges, searching for people interested in hosting international high school students.
Collectively, these women work with international students ages 15-18 who come for a semester or a year, attending our local high schools. You can be part of building loving relationships and providing a nurturing home-life for an international teen. These relationships branch out into local communities through new friendships, local outreach, and especially inviting a new member to your family. Families with children of all ages, single parents, and empty nesters are all welcome to host a student. Volunteer to share your heart and home.
Here are some of the students they are working with. They would love to see them come to Pacifica this Fall.
Lavica is from Italy. She is 17 and has a younger sibling. Her interests include dance, swimming, volleyball, singing, photography, and cooking. She is a semester student, arriving in August and departing December near Christmas.
Mirja is from Germany. She is 16. She participates in competitive rope skipping, practicing three times a week. Her other interests are reading, meeting friends, and enjoys being creative.
Gustavo is from Brazil. He is 16 turning 17 in September. He comes from a family of 4 siblings and a dog. His favorite sports are soccer, tennis, and swimming. He is very studious and likes to spend time outdoors.
They are happy to explain the process, responsibilities, and ADVENTURES of hosting! Call or visit your Local Coordinators!
