@star1403: Did you call the local police department to report the incident?
star1403 April 07, 2014 at 08:50 PM
I tried. The dispatcher was less than helpful. I don't think she dispatched anyone.

Isn't the fine for consuming alcohol or doing drugs at a school tripled or doubled?

And what exactly is the acronym JLL in Palo Alto and its relevance to Pacifica?
David Cole April 04, 2014 at 10:13 AM
So here's my guess -- the Patch people were shooting to put this up on the Palo Alto site, but putRead Morei t on the Pacifica site by accident (probably they're listed right next to each other in the system). JLL is a real estate business, FWIW.

Thanks, David! The poster, Aman Chahal, never replied back.

Hi John, Yes, that's why I put "peace officers" in quotes. The more I think about Mr.Read MoreCha ng, the angrier I become. It is obvious to me that zero effort was made to reach a viable outcome for him. Moreover, I am aware of several other residents of this town who suffer from mental illness. Will they wind up on the wrong end of a cop's gun too? When will the Law Enforcers learn to respond appropriately to people who are mentally unbalanced? The public needs to be educated about this as well. I believe that the primary reason that there hasn't been an appropriate public outcry in response to Mr. Chang's unnecessary death is because the mentally ill are regarded as undeserving of legal protection, or guilty until proven innocent. I want to thank you, Mr. Negley, for your well-written letter about Mr. Chang in the Tribune. I had only thought about writing in, but you actually did it. What more do you think that we can do?

The community needs to come together and show up at some of the council meetings. Jackie spierRead Morewo uld be someone to contact as well as other congressman. We can not allow what happened to Errol Chang to be swept under the rug. I attended the candlelight vigil and although it was very peaceful, you could see the anguish and feel the pain, everyone was feeling.
John Negley April 08, 2014 at 04:21 PM
The more people are vocal about issues the more attention they get. Catberry - you are correct.Read MoreFor those that can make it to the council meetings and Jackie Speier really listens to every comment. She has responded to my questions and comments in the past and then taken action, which is something we see lacking in officials these days.

From my understanding that incident happened a couple of years ago. It coincided with a coyotesRead Morethat came down from Golden Gate Park. I am no behavioral specialist, but it was explained to me that the migration of this pack into existing territory created a much more aggressive situation both with the migrating pack and existing pack. It makes sense. I am at Esplanade Beach (and mussel rock) a couple days a week. Recently I have not seen a coyote nor any signs of them (I can recognize their scat). I am also on Milagra Ridge frequently, where I do see their scat on a regular basis. My back yard also backs into Milagra Ridge. When that incident happened I would hear coyotes just about nightly, however in the past year there have been no sound of them at all. I believe there used to be a situation, but now the coyotes territory has been re-established and everything has seemed to calm down. That is just my unprofessional opinion based on my observations, though I have been active in the outdoors my whole life. I have a 70 lb lab, a larger dog, but not big enough to scare off a pack with her presence alone.

Maybe you'd like to move to The Middle East, Pat? She has done a great job... just my $.02
Pat March 29, 2014 at 03:10 PM
No Lois, maybe you should move to the middle east since you think Hillary has done such a greatRead Morejob. I've worked in the middle east and it's more screwed up than ever, especially under Hillary's watch. Great job? Really? Do some homework before you make stupid statements like that on a public forum. Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Iran. Oh yeah, great job. Let's not forget Libya where Hillary has the blood of four dead Americans on her hands. " but what does it matter " her words. Of course you'll vote for her no matter what because she's a women.

Are you talking about Shelter Cove? What's new about this?
LB March 15, 2014 at 03:20 PM
A guy named Telligan (sp) used to own a good deal of shelter cove, as I understand it. I believeRead Morehe died in some kind of bizarre circumstances and don't know who owns the cove now. My buddy lived down there for years and it was a most excellent place to just hang out and be away.
