Lego Camp to Water Polo: What's Your Summer Plan?

This month and beyond: summer activities galore from the Pacifica Parks, Beaches, and Recreation Department.

This summer, the Pacifica Parks, Beaches and Recreation Department has a packed schedule of field trips and events that are coming up fast. Everything from lego camp and taekwondo to water Zumba and culinary arts appears in this year’s lineup. Here are registration deadlines coming up, new programs, and highlights of this month and beyond.   

Youth Volunteer Opportunity: Ages 11 to 18 can be trained to help instructors teach swim lessons at Brink Pool. Training runs June 18-15, 9am to noon at Brink Pool at 201 Paloma Ave. Applications must be received by PB&R office by June 15.

Summer Recreation Swim: Daily youth swim 1-3pm June 18-Aug. 17. Several spots are still available in the Wet & Wild Water Camp, as well as week-long swim lessons.

Summer Child Care: For ages 3 and up. Early registration for the lower fee is due today, June 7.

Water Polo: New to PB&R’s activity round-up, classes run from June 18-Aug.6 and June 23-Aug.11.

Kayaking and Sailing: New this year, for ages 6 to 12 throughout the summer, offered through San Francisco State University Recreation Department. Starts June 25.

Rocket Run: 5-mile race on for all ages on the Fourth of July, beginning at the Pacifica Community Center. Registration required today for guaranteed t-shirt sizes and a lower entrance fee.

Tennis: Classes including the new cardio tennis, will be at the refurbished courts at Oceana High School.

Dog Daze: The fourth annual canine festival in Pacifica with dog agility contests, adoptions, silent auction, food trucks, and more. This will be the first time that will host the event.

Think Bridge Camp: New this year, challenging kids ages 6 to 11 to innovate and creatively problem solve. Taught by Pacifica School District teachers and staff from June 25-July 20.
