Caltrans Plans to Widen Highway 1

Caltrans is moving forward with its plan to widen part of Highway 1 in Pacifica, but the public still has a chance to weigh in at a .

, which would cost between $45 and $52 million, raises environmental concerns because of its proximity to wetland habitat, but Caltrans asserts that with proper care, no significant damage will occur.

The highway would be widened between 2,300 ft. north of Reina Del Mar Avenue to about 1,500 ft. south of Fassler Avenue, an area the Caltrans has identified as being a bottleneck for traffic during mornings and afternoons.
